TOPIC: Cutting Board

I'm making a cutting board, and would like to know what is the best product to seal the wood? I made one in woodshop in Jr. High and shop teacher recommended crisco, I know not to use that now.. just asking Please help Thank you David:cheer:

I'm not sure I would recommend Crisco, but you can use a variety of the naturals, like walnut oil or almond oil. I believe peanut oil is ok too, but you have to watch there are no additives, AND there is always the peanut allergy thing with this type, so you might want to avoid this one.

Any vegetable oils are NOT recommended because they can and do go rancid.

Walnut oil is my "go to" favorite, it is readily available, reasonably priced and easy to apply.
