I remember as as student making a very simple car wood toy. I haven't tried it again as an adult...but perhaps I should. The basic outline of the car was cut out on the bandsaw then holes for the axel were drilled. We used wooden wheels held on with an axel, through the drilled holes. Sanding and finishing were last. I think there was even a window. It was simple, functional and quick.

It looked something like this...www.arizonawoodentoys.com/wooden-toy-cars.html

Jenn: Those would make some very fun and easy to make Christmas presents.

Barry: Very nice ... do you use plans for those? If so, where did you get them from?

Boy it has been to long sice ai checked this site; Puzzles is the thing that got me started doing scrollsawing, and then ofcourse toys for the grandsons. I have just finished a 20" square checkerboard for the two grandsons, and a bunch of Christmas decorations as inserts (stack cut using 1/16'B) for my Chritsmas cards.

I got the larger cars from ubild.com. The smaller cars I drew by hand.

Pieter: Ya, we're working on getting the site hoping again. Post some pictures of your projects if you get a chance. I'm sure everyone would like to see them.
