Does anyone know why the tilt mechanism of the Hitachi C 10FL would pop but not tilt? I've had it about 4 mo. From day one it's been very hard to tilt. Now it just pops when I try to tilt the blade.

I just looked at this saw at Lowes today and thought that the height and tilt adjustments seemed 'tight'. I wonder if your 'worm' gear is slipping? I don't know what kind of material they use but if it is not working that could be the problem.

How loud is that saw? I have a cheap Craftsman now which is super noisy as well as having a 'wandering' blade. I'm looking for a reasonably priced (under $500) saw for craft work.
