Has anyone else had problems with a miter saw not cutting square when it locks in the 0 position? I have to set mine almost a full degree to right to get straight cuts.

Hi mhwitt74,

I would think a great many woodworkers have had to set up or adjust their miter saws. I just had to give my own a little tweak 2 or 3 days ago.

You should be able to align your scales if the pointer is not on the zero.

Depending on the saw as to where the adjustments are. A basic miter saw should have bolts up from the bottom for adjustment. Sliding miter saws should be underneath as well. Really depends on the brand.

It is a 12" Rigid. I switched blades thinking maybe it was warped but put a new Freud on it and still the same. I flipped it over but wasn't quite sure what bolts did what.

Google search "12" Ridgid miter saw #XXXXXX owners manual" if you don't have the original. You should be able to print out the manual.

A quick search brought up this page.
